Bentech Ingenjörs AB is the owner of a number of patents for retractable roof systems and balcony glazing systems. Interested companies may purchase license rights or patents for these systems in a large number of countries.

Purchase of patents

When a patent is purchased, Bentech transfers all its patent rights for a territory to the buyer. The buyer becomes the sole owner of the patent and can use the patent rights within the territory as desired. The buyer is also responsible for keeping the patent valid.

The transfer of patent rights is regulated in a special purchase agreement between the parties.

License agreement

When a license agreement is signed, Bentech transfers the use of its patent rights within a given territory to an external licensee. A license can be granted with exclusive or non-exclusive rights within a territory.

A license agreement with Bentech will define, among other things:

The products covered by the agreement
The territory (country or countries) and any limitations regarding exports from the territory.
Whether the rights are exclusive or non-exclusive.
The down payment - payment to the licenser for transfer of know-how, etc.
The royalty - payment to the licenser for sales.
The minimum royalty - minimum yearly payment to the licenser.
The period of the agreement

The use of Bentech´s patent within a territory is dependent on a license agreement being signed between the parties.
